Rudeneja, it's when the nature and the weather begins to feel like autumn. And I felt it with the first blast of September's wind.
I love the amount of color that appears outside the window - starting with yellow and ending with brown. It's the sign that I can wear my jeans and flannels and go to apple picking which is happening every year in the orchard located next to my family home. Afterwards we're assembling in the kitchen to make apple pie. Pumpkin pie or any type of processed pumpkin isn't admired in our family. I am an exception with my predilection for pumpkin spice latte.
Besides apples, we also collect nuts. Recently, my dad has learned to make wine. Now, he's doing his best while making apple cider. Meanwhile, me and my sister are improving ours skills in raking leaves. This is the essence of autumn. I wish I could put this fragrance in a bottle and smell while feeling homesick.
Another thing typical of autumn are warm sweaters, which I have a large collection of, cute slippers and fall scarfs which I put on when I sit by the fire in the yard and roast marshmallows with my little cousins.
However, my favorite thing is sinking in nature with a book in hand.
Regardless of the season.
